Zayev trudged up the mountain for the fourth day so far. The morning frost had made her paws go numb, but she kept going, waiting for herself to stumble across the perfect place to lay claim as her own land. Her mother always told her to go where her heart desired, and the cold, barren looking mountains had been screaming her name ever since she can remember.
After what seemed like forever, Zayev came across a large clearing in the mountainside. After a quick look, she decided there was no protection from the elements, so it wasn't a place to set up a pack. As she continued on, the rock increasingly got more slick. Suddenly, she slipped and started to slide towards the edge of the pathway she was on. She instinctively dug her claws into the dirt and finally, one if her hind paws already hanging off the edge, she stopped sliding.
Once again she was off, but this time with more sure footedness. After following the trail a while longer she approached a cave. She quietly sniffed the air for recent activity, and she didn't get any new smells. She decided to explore further into the cave. A short ways from the entrance was a large open area, and several tunnels branched out from the area. She slowly explored each tunnel, and all of the tunnels lead to what appeared to be bedding sites. She liked what she saw, but what really caught her eye was that back in the main cavern it appeared that wolf prints seemed to be imprinted in the dirt.
"I lay claim to this mountain! I call it mine, I call it the territory of the Everbane Mountain Pack!" The she wolf cried, as she let out a long, loud howl to tell the world this place was hers.
