So his plan had not gone through, Bjorn hadn't liked it. Vern had never pushed him to figure out why he didn't want to start a pack where they were born. Truth is he didn't want to now. He had settled into this pack just perfectly for now and was loving his position. He was working constantly both day and night because he was the only one with the position and he wanted to be sure he was doing the best he could. He had to admit he was rather worn out, only sleeping the bare minimum of what his body needed. He was determined to work his butt off and only kick back when more wolves joined the guard position and that more wolves would be patrolling then just him. He hadn't had much time to spend with Bjorn unless he would join him on his patrol. Vern hadn't minded much, his work gave him time to think and time to explore the pack lands. This place was a good place to call home. The territory was beautiful and has lots of prey, shelter, and water. Shri, their alpha, had made the right decision when she picked this place.
Long strides drove the large male forward, along the borders of the pack. His eyes and his ears were alert, searching for any sign of life. He was mostly on the lookout for trespassers, or anything that could be a threat to the pack, making sure the marks of the borders were strong enough, and also just making sure things were in place. It was his job and he was proud to do it. In fact the male loved doing it. He would hopefully be the first to find new potential members, he got to see were about the prey entered the territory, and even get some excitement if trouble would arise. So far he hadn't seen much of anything for the morning, but he had just started his rounds.
