Yana
The vow stayed in the she-wolf's mind that she needed to look after her little comrade no matter what happened. Kita was growing, and his curiosity should have been blooming. There was such quietness about him that made her a little more concerned than she would have wished on the matter, and it was enough to result in a strained relationship once in a while. Her heart hurt in more ways than one, it was a reason for her to want to continue on.
Shore Woods was too quiet, it was enough to make her want to head toward the Delta. It was an adventure, she had promised the little paws that trailed behind her, and her choice had been made on the account she wanted to keep them safe. The bears should have been hibernating this time of year, it was the wisest time to go before spring jumped on him and then there was nothing to be done but open her mouth and admit she made a mistake. Keeping the young pup safe was the only thing she could fathom, the only reason why she counted on anything at all.
The lost feeling in her heart was left over from the lack of comfort Shore Woods had recently been bringing her. There was an attempt from Joker to bring them back together, but there was no denying that she would stand on the outside and question if it was too late. The mere thought that she was going to be tortured by having open thoughts about the matter was a bit too much for her.
There were so many strangers, so many that were not normal in her atmosphere. Yana knew all about being abandoned, about being isolated and virtually forgotten about. It was not a pretty feeling, it was not something she wanted to look too deeply into. It was a frightening thought, but somehow she would keep going - she would survive in this world, and she would make sure Kita did too.
"How you holdin' up, kiddo?"
Soft voice beckoned back behind her, turning her head as she watched the younger wolf. A stab of pride filled her expression, and she uttered a sigh of pleasure. He was the light in her life now, there was no doubt about that.

He did his best to keep himself from tripping over his long legs and his big paws. Kita had kept himself close at her heels not letting himself drift any further away from her. Since Yana had taken him in, Kita had grown quite attached the the female he had now called his mother. He had long since forgotten his traumatic abandonment, but his emotions and his mind was still messed up from it. When they were in Shore woods Kita spent his time with Yana, rarely leaving her side. He didn't seem antisocial at all, but he would never leave her side for vary long. He couldn't seem to pull himself away from her and when he did get separated from her he was an absolute wreck. Kita was absolutely content with fallowing her around everywhere. In fact he seemed to have little interest in exploring and he hadn't really bonded with any other members in Shore Woods. It had to be why leaving was so absolutely easy for him to deal with. Even if he wouldn't have liked to stay he wouldn't have left her side.
He was growing, right close to 9 months now. He was all legs with rather large paws. His baby coat was shedding away while slowly his adult coat was beginning to grow in. He was at the awkward look in his life and with Yana's help he was well taken care of. His ocean blue eyes looked to her rump then moved his head to the right to look at her face as she turned it to him. Smiling brightly his tail wagged.
"Doing just fine!" he replied. "Where are we headed today mom."

Yana
There was a frightening feeling that washed over the female, a notion that something bad had happened. The land had been too quiet, there had been warnings that most could not ignore. It was like winter had slipped into the veins of everyone and murdered those who had simply wanted to survive
The reminder was enough to have her looking at the long legged, intelligent male who was not about to leave her side. Where were they going, it was a question that should have been asked a long time ago. The hint of a smile came up about her features, and the mottled, medium sized female took a strive for some type of normalcy in her response.
"Exploring," Her words were crisp, soft on the air. "We must be careful when nearing the delta - the ground gives way beneath your paws at it softens." The words were reluctant on her tongue, but still intent on trying to make her point be known. This was not an easy journey, but the loneliness was not something she could quite squish from her mind. Yana was a pack wolf, and once more it seemed she had been abandoned for some other kind of happily ever after. Being left behind, it was something she shared so tightly in common with the pup.
"Bears might be coming out, too," Her words were quick on the uptake as she paused, finding herself having to go the long way around a log. No, she was not about to make trouble for the pair, exhaust them when it would be easier to just keep going forward. The faint smile was on her lips though, and the sigh arched out of her mouth.
"I suppose you've never seen one - but be sure to use your nose, dear. If anything smells funny, and alive; best not to approach unless we can be absolutely safe." Turning her head back, she peered at the male who would eventually dwarf her. Yana had no issue with that, but still, she only hoped she was going to to the right thing by him. The last half a year had been... difficult, but she had saved him.
"No need to go back home exhausted from wrestling with an animal bigger than you, anyway." Tail swished absently, her gaze staring forward as she skimmed the horizon.

His bad like ears swiveled forward listening to her answer and her warning. He instantly looked down, watching his steps and watching for the ground to give way beneath him. Her words scared him a bit as his imagination decided to take over. All he could see is that earth falling away and sucking him down with it. With this he pushed himself forward so that he was right beside Yana's back right leg, keeping close to her. Kita had failed to listen to the vary last part of her sentence about the ground softening so his ideas on the ground were much worse then what she had explained. She then mentioned bears and his ocean blues eyes looked towards her face. He had heard that word a couple of times in Shore woods, but he never knew what the word meant. He could only assume it was some sort of object.
Looking at her he barely noticed the log and stumbled landing in the soft ground with a rather small thud. He didn't take long to pick himself back up and catch back up to Yana. He wasn't about to let himself get to far behind her. Her explanation really didn't answer the question that was burning within his mind and he was dying to ask her. His ocean blue eyes looked to her at her last statement and he smiled happily, his tail wagging. He was happy to be traveling with her, he couldn't imagine anything better. He couldn't even imagine what experiences they would have or who they would run into or what they would see. It made him more excited as he moved.
Glancing around he paused for a moment as he thought he saw something move within the shadows of the trees. He grew somewhat nervous and quickly caught back up to Yana.
"What are Bears," he decided to ask because he was dyeing to know.
