| This shore was beautiful to the young she wolf as she walked along, picking her way across the stony beach. Her coat was only slightly darker than the stones. The wind howled at her back and she looked up at a dark and ominous sky. Looking out at the water, she noted the waves were choppy and varied.
Hunger pulled at her again. It begged for her to stop and find a bit of flesh. She scanned the area up and down, glancing at the sky and the earth alike. Finally, what she had thought to be a large rock in the distance moved.
She crouched and picked her way carefully through the rubble. As she drew close, she saw it was a small seal pup. She raised her head now and looked up and down the shore for the little thing's mother, or family. Further up the beach was what appeared to be a large male, and a group of females. Gleefully she grabbed it by the head and quickly scuttled inland with it, crushing down to kill it before it could let out any cries.
Probably the easiest meal she'd found in a while, she thought. She stopped to look up hill to see if anyone else was about before tucking herself next to a large rock and beginning her meal.

Kerberos
Prancing paws were proud in ways that could not be contained. Everything seemed to be coming together, and the wolf was not about to complain. He was not about to allow utterances of his blind days come about, and it was enough to keep him moving forward. The hunger through his body was not about to be denied, and his heart was thudding in his ears. There was b=pleasure to be had with such a precious situation, his pack was growing and the numbers remained forever in his favor.
He paused, the steps on the rocks lightly dotted by the water's edge and he could not help but notice the difference in their size. Kerberos, ultimately, was obsessive. Beyond crazed when it came to the notion that he was going to have to make sure that his pleasure was given the right sense about things. His shoulders pulled back, and the anger crossed his eyes. Trespassers! Someone had come into his land, a small someone, thinking they could nibble about!
Well, he was not going to tolerate. His nose was the trusty thing that he could count on, and the King himself waltzed for the intruder. Not that it mattered, he was quite large; he was beyond what could have been expected. He all but salivated with the reminder that he might be able to take some tasty bits of wolf flesh and make it a day to remember. Now that was something he was not about to pass up.
It was the blood that gave her away, Kerberos being so in tune with the taste and the want of it that the addiction was not easily missed. Perhaps he would have walked by her rocks, perhaps he would have thought her nothing more than a shadow. Instead, there had been no outcome more valued than the husky scent of death in his nose, and thus, he climbed the rock he knew her to be on the other side of.
His growl was softly uttered when he reached the slippery peak of it, and his eyes stared down. He could only see her head, greedily basking in the dead seal up. It curved his features into a wolfish grin, even as he snarled; "You steal the Coast's food because you want to be under me on this beautiful day, I assume, mutt?"

| So enamored was the female in her meal, having not eaten for some time, that she was quite startled by the new arrival of another. She twisted her head up to say hello, always the optimist and outgoing soul. Instead she was greeted by a growl a his head peeked over the rock at her. Instantly she put her ears back. She knew she'd crossed someone's borders, but she was simply travelling through and hadn't thought much of it.
"My greatest apologies, sir," she said appeasingly as she stepped away from her meal while also backing away from the large rock. "I meant no disrespect, truly, I was but hungry and passing through."
Surely he could respect that, she thought. She wasn't so sure though. The way he'd spoken about it was different, and to her it was certainly not a beautiful day. She glanced again at the stormy sky and the angry water down the way before looking back up at the stranger and tilting her head.
"Are you the alpha here? I really meant no harm" That was certainly what it seemed like, and he was most definitively and uniquely dangerous looking. If he really took offense to her hunting here... Well, she certainly didn't know the area at all and would not know which approach to use for her own liberty and security.

Kerberos
Anger was not something that could be righteously ignored. She had invaded his land and to what purpose; what right did she think she had to come and steal his food? What if she brought with her rebellion? What if she was the tidings of war? A thousand questions and they were not going to be answered by the female who was beneath him. The only thing that benefitted her was the fact that she was indeed beneath him. It was a comfort, to be sure, and laughter edged his lips.
"Passing through?" His words came rolling off his tongue as if the thought had never occurred to him. "No one merely passes through the Black Coast, my dear." What seemed to have appeased him did not. There was something to be said about the madness in his eye; a single eye. It was a wonder that he was tolerant at all, being the Alpha of the land. King, of the land. He knew he was not invincible but some days it certainly felt like it.
Paws hit the ground as he flung himself off the rock, landing down a few feet from the female. His head cocked to the side as he rolled his eyes over her, trying to assess the feelings that threatened to consume. It had been a while since he had brought in some fresh meat. Perhaps this was not something to be concerned over, but something to find joy within. The thought settled him, although only briefly.
"Anyone who comes to the Coast stays... in one way or another."
