EVIR CHKALOV word count :: 354════════════════════════════════════════ Rain poured heavily, causing the male to flinch as unexpected droplets fell upon his face. The weather here was as bi-polar as he himself. The Island had recently been experiencing days of complete rainfall, and the next morning it'd be so sunny you'd feel almost vulnerable to melting if you basked in it for too long. It wouldn't be surprising if they were prone to a tropical storm occurring sometime soon, in fact it was more than expected.
Evir had been spending the morning exploring the beach, for recently Ivana and himself were relaxing under the shelter the inland was offering. Prey was more plentiful over there as well as the fact that they could hide from the weather in secluded caves. The male had arrived at the Island only the other day, along with his sister - both having had to make the treacherous journey through the channel. Memories of pushing the water with his tired legs filled his mind, as the feeling of fatigue came rushing back. Neither of them really came here for any specific reason, more or less for an adventure. Evir vigorously shook his white shaggy head, closing his attention onto anything but that experience.
With a loud and over exaggerated sigh, the large male leisurely made his way to the tree-line. He'd awoken earlier than his sister, having left her where she was to sleep while he'd investigated the beach. Ivana could be anywhere by now, which worried him as they were the only two wolves on the Island - which he knew of, at least. Even though she was more than capable of looking after herself, he still wanted to have the comfort of knowing her whereabouts. "Ivana?" he yelled, head peeping into the tropical forest. The overpowering smell of both dampness and the sea combined filled his black wet nose as he sniffed about for any scent trail of hers. She'd come around soon enough, probably. That's what Ivana did.
Dark eyes shot up towards the canopy as he observed the dripping of rain from the enormous trees as he waited for her. Was this home?

Ivana
The little white she-wolf was in some weird paradise filled to the brim with new exciting sights and sounds, most of them she didn't have the slightest clue on what they even were, and that whatever made them even existed before. All she knew was that she was going to somehow conquer these queer lands and become the ruler of them, with her brother right beside her, of course, she could never forget about him, the giant, lovable oaf. Her head was reeling with all of the things going on around here, there was tons of weird little creatures climbing through the dense canopy above her, all chattering what seemed excitedly about who knows what. Everything was completely smothered with the heavy, pleasant scent of rain, making it nearly impossible for her to try and reorient herself. Most sane creatures would be scared out of their wits, being so utterly lost in the deep heart of some new exotic jungle they didn't even know existed a day before, but nope, not Ivana, she was the exact opposite, instead loving each and every second of it. Was that weird sound some dangerous predator about to kill her or another furry little creature that glided effortlessly through the thick canopy, going its own merry way? She didn't know, and she was fine with it. Well, more then fine, actually, she completely enjoyed the thrill of exploring the deep, dark abyss which was the unknown. This area was such a stark contrast when compared to her homelands, it was green and bustling with life, while her birthplace was dry, flat and practically dying. It was amazing the way nature could be so diverse, one second it was flat and bone-dry, and the next moment it was green and pouring so heavily you couldn't see what was right in front of you until you smacked directly into it, it was completely mesmerizing. She could spend her entire lifetime just endlessly exploring this place, and each day she'd be so amazed by the new sights she'd see, the sounds she'd hear... and speaking of sounds, a voice was calling for her. She'd know that voice from anywhere. Loud, deep and booming with an easy sort of confidence, it was her brother. He seemed to have lost her. Really, it was silly, the current scene, she awakens and finds that he ditched her sometime while she was sleeping, and now he suddenly wants to see her. Seriously, he shouldn't have wandered off in the first place, if he knew he was going to need her or something. It was tempting, the idea of just continuing her little adventure through the forest. She had a good excuse for not coming back then and there, she could say she got lost in the forest and couldn't hear his calls, simple as that. But alas, she knew better, and she was genuinely curious as to why he was calling for her. Grudgingly, she turned around and started to trot back to where his voice was coming from. It didn't take long before the forest started to ease up, allowing some gentle, muted rays of light to shine through. She came to a slow, lazy halt a few strides away from him, peering curiously at him with her bright blue eyes, he was staring at some tree, the little weirdo, and was very obviously waiting for her. Maybe she could startle him? She doubted it, probably knew she was right there, but it wouldn't hurt to try. “What?” She barked loudly at him, dropping lazily onto her haunches with a wet little squiltch. It was amazing, the amount it already rained here. In their homelands, rain was a very rare, mixed blessing of sorts, bringing bountiful life but also bringing much hardships, as it tended to flood the entire place and it scared the living crap out of her, with the loud, deafening claps of thunder and the sudden, unexpected flashes of lightning. Though she still loved the rain, with all of its terrifying prowess. Really, if she could be an element, she was so sure she'd be a thunderstorm, loud and highly volatile, it sounded lovely, to have so much control at her disposal.Word Count: 695 Mentioned: Evir Addressed: Evir

EVIR CHKALOV word count :: 524════════════════════════════════════════ Eventually becoming immersed in his little wonderland of sweet-smelling surroundings, the white male’s mouth opened, allowing his dark pink tongue to lol out. Despite the pouring rain and sogginess of the forest floor, this Island was truly remarkable.
This was not the first or last time Evir’s mind had drifted off and grasped onto tranquil thoughts, no, so far it had occurred on multiple occasions. There was something about this Island...almost as if it charmed him. It was so easy to get lost in it both physically and mentally, and the challenge sparked nothing but pure interest. He pondered what life might be like living here, noting that all the unique creatures made the Island whole with their annoying loud calls and constant movements. There were so many more places to visit and venture to, even the simple idea fascinated him beyond repair. Now that he had seen the Island, Evir knew that there was nowhere else he’d rather be, and no place more intriguing which compared to it. He was set on staying here, now all that was left was to discuss this with Ivana. Speaking of which, where was his sister?
A sharp bark made the large male topple over, clumsily falling against a nearby tree. “Crap...” his voice drifted off. It was nothing but chance that he’d had the support of the tree, thank god. With a dazed expression he regained his balance, only to see the unmistakable figure of Ivana. His immediate reaction was to ram into her with all his might, that was before he realised she was occupied with her thoughts. “What was that for?” he turned his back on her in a hostile manner, head lowered, “honestly you’re such a kid sometimes. Get your act together Ivana.”
After a few moments of calming himself down, a smirk appeared on his face. If his sister saw it, she would have moved right out of his way, but she didn’t. In relatively fast time, he whipped himself around to face her, his eyes gleaming as if he’d just achieved a lifelong goal…not that he had any. In fact, he was hopeless in that area.
Almost as if he was crazy, Evir let out a hysterical laugh before he threw himself at the female, making her fall harshly on her back. He was well aware of his power and how far he could push Ivana’s buttons, so he made sure his forceful blow wouldn’t leave any serious damage, only enough to make her to consider not spooking him out again.
As she lay helplessly underneath him, his tail began wagging rapidly, a smile covering his face. Ivana's chances of escaping his towering grasp were slim, as all four paws of his were planted firmly in the ground beside her. “So lil’ sis, how about you don’t try that trick again?” he said in a surprisingly smooth and soft tone for his size. He began smothering her in licks as he stood over her happily, still refusing to release her from his lock. His tail and rump continued to swish, only now lightly against her hind legs, making short abrupt thumps. |
