ASPYN DON'T TIE ME DOWN CAUSE I'D NEVER STAY
[scroll]The river was peaceful today. The deafening roar that she had become so familiar with was absent. Yes the current was still there, but seemingly slower than normal. This was the land of her birth. The land she had known better than anywhere else in Somerset. A land she never wished to stray from for long. It was a beautiful spring morning, the multi-hued femme appearing from a nearby den among the adjoining hills. It overlooked the ocean and was the most breathtaking sight she'd ever known. Glistening chartreuse eyes studied her surroundings. Focused and sharp as her lithe frame elongated in a leisurely stretch. Long limbs extended outward, claws digging deep into the fertile earth. Her spine arched as far as it could, her muscles stretched to full capacity. A strong senses of relief overcame the femme as the tension in her frame ebbed. A low, appreciative hum rumbled from within her chest. Today was a good day and a sense of purpose filled her. Her father had spoken of passing the land down to her. He was far from old, but it was time for a change. The sky was dark and foreboding, but tendrils of sunlight still managed to peek through. It was a warm day with a steady breeze. The strong scent of seawater filled her senses, comforting her. It was time to take her place at the top of the ranks. Some would find it ludicrous that a female at such a young age would wish to take the noble title of Alpha. Especially one who lacked a mate. She knew she did not need a mate to rule, but that didn't mean she would go without permanently. It was the furthest thing from her mind as her rust tinted auds folded back against her skull. She took a deep breath, turning her maw to the sky. A long, resolute howl erupted from her lungs. The song carried far and wide for all to hear. "I, Aspyn Farrin, do claim this land. Rock River Delta, the home of my birth. In the name of my family, I shall rule this land and welcome all who travel here. Those pure of heart and strong of will shall join me." Lowering her head, she moved down the smooth incline. Her steps practiced and light, avoiding each dip and crevice. She made her way down to the river, her stomach reminding her of a need for nourishment. A celebratory fish was in order. So the auburn femme treated herself to just that. It was definitely a good day. |
