Do i dare, disturb the universe?

Iiona took a deep breath as she stopped in the middle of her trek. Perched on one of the many ledges jutting out of Sharktooth Island's most prominent mountain, the young wolf sat back on her haunches, jaws open as she panted slightly, surveying the land below her. All of the Island was available for her scrutiny, and as she scanned every familiar forest, every familiar beach, Iiona couldn't help but reflect upon her past and how her every day seemed to have groomed her for this moment. To her left was Sky Falls, her very birthplace, and a landmark she had spent much of her younger years playing in. To her right, Iiona spied Purgatory Reef. It was there that her father had taught her the meaning of danger and how survival was so much more than a purely physical struggle. Between the two moments, the rest of the Island was spread out like a felled piece of prey, ripe for the taking.[break][break]
And I will take it, Iiona resolved as she scented the crisp morning air. The sun was just about to rise; it was now or never. [break][break]
Tilting her head back, the young wolf drew her ears back, flattening them against her skull as she closed her eyes and howled, loud and clear, shattering the silence. "I, Iiona Faure, lay claim to this Sharktooth Island as my mother and her father and all my ancestors have in generations past! This land belongs to me and my pack, and it shall remain that way until I am dead!"[break][break]
As her call echoed through the hills, Iiona sat still and watched the Island rouse itself from it's slumber. Birds flew through the treetops, and the waves began picking up. To the rest of the land, it was just another day. But, to Iiona, that day marked the start of her legacy.[break][break]
With the last sounds of her command whisked away by the ocean breeze, Iiona lowered her head — one last commemoration to her late parents — and turned to make her way back down the mountain. She may be the alpa, but life waits for no one, and she had no time to be wasting.
