The light-furred she-wolf padded along the rocky coastline, the salty ocean breeze buffeting her dense coat. As per usual, Isabel had no idea where exactly she was and was merely wandering around in a vain exploration for food. As she surveyed the harsh scenery, the creamy white wolf suspected that she hadn’t been in this particular area before, the jagged terrain unfamiliar to her deep purple eyes. The steep scramble down to shore had earned her a number of grazes and bruises and as far as she could see, the area was void of any prey worth her time. Still, she wanted to make her painful descent worthwhile by finding something substantial to sink her teeth into and was stubbornly determined not to leave the shoreline until she had done so.
So far, she’d made a half hearted dash for a flock of noisy black and white birds, but they simply scattered into a flurry of the moment they spotted her, and settled down further along the beach. She considered making a proper attempt to snare one, but her careless rush had most likely made them too suspicious. Plus, she wasn’t sure if she could be bothered to go to all that effort for such a tiny, bony reward. Deep purple eyes filled with frustration, Isabel hopped between the large rocks that dotted the coastline; it was early afternoon and her stomach was beginning to rumble. A particularly high wave sent a spray of water rocketing towards Belle’s slender form, partially soaking her side. An annoyed scowl forming on her muzzle, she shot a withering glare towards the rippling ocean.
“Stupid, useless water... Not even drinkable...” She muttered irritably under her breath as she leaped from one boulder to another. “Oh!” She exclaimed as her paws slipped on one of the slick rocks in her distraction, making her tumble down onto the hard rock beside the offending boulder. “Oww…” Isabel grumbled, wincing as she pushed herself onto her paws. She craned her head to look at her shoulder, which now sported a nice little cut, courtesy of the gouging rocks that littered the beach. Upon inspection, Belle determined that it wasn’t very deep, but was big enough to sting and trickle blood down her leg. She let an exasperated sigh escape from her muzzle. Isabel was sick of wandering along the coastline, but didn’t want to give up on her mission for food. She wistfully glanced up towards the sheer cliffs that barred her from the mainland; she’d have to find another path to get out on. Isabel had to admit she wasn’t particularly looking forward to the climb out; despite her experience climbing steep paths on Everbane Mountain, it would still be an exhausting experience. Pausing a moment longer to lick her wound, Belle continued on her trek along the shore, trying to keep her resolve up.

Sol grinned as he followed the coastline, enjoying the misty air as well as the eye-catching landscape. While he had been around this area a few times — especially now that there was no established pack running around to bother him — he always found Black Coast an interesting location, not to mention the fact that the sea lions in the area were rather tasty, if not a little strange. Of course, catching them was another matter, and a rather dangerous venture at that since that would require Sol to make his way down to the water. And, that venture was really only one meant for the light-footed. So, for the most part, Sol stayed well away unless there was a great enough reason for him to head down.[break][break]
When he heard a yelp of pain, Sol decided that helping an injured wolf was enough of an incentive.[break][break]
"Are you alright?" He called as he peered precariously over the edge. Sol could tell that wolf was female (if her voice was anything to go by) and, judging by how she twisted to glance at her side, he could also assume that she sported a rather nasty consequence for wandering down. "Do you need some help?"[break][break]
Glancing around, Sol grimaced when he saw no easy path down to join the wolf on the ledge below. And, he wasn't about to risk stepping on an untried, unsteady rock only to tumble to his own death on the stones below. Even so, he glanced back at the wolf, he wanted to help her as best he could. That was, after all, common courtesy.

Isabel regarded the rough ocean waves, ears perked forward in an alert fashion. Her features conveyed faint concern at the rising tide; she could've sworn that those rocks had not been touching the water mere minutes ago. She was startled out of her thoughts by a concerned voice that rang out from somewhere on the cliffs. She swiveled her frame around quickly and snapped her gaze towards the source of the words, pinpointing a primarily tan figure perched uncertainly on the edge of the craggy cliffs. She immediately noted that he was quite a bulky and well-built wolf, probably standing at least a few inches taller than her on even ground. "I'm fine." Belle brushed off his questions quickly, her tone more defensive than she had intended it to be. It didn't seem like this wolf was trying to be patronizing, but she couldn't help herself; she was naturally on guard whenever interacting with new wolves. She had to holler a little to keep her words from being stolen by the wind which whipped at her fluffy cream coat, even eliciting a slight shiver from the thick-furred she-wolf. The stranger's expression of concern had made Belle suddenly hyper-conscious of the blood that was currently trailing down her right shoulder, compelling her to hurriedly lick some of it off, large ears flicked backwards with distaste as the metallic flavor spread out on her taste-buds. She tilted her head as she reverted her gaze back to the figure, unable to help but wonder how he was feeling, standing up on those exposed cliffs.
As Belle studied the stranger with large purple eyes, she noticed that they seemed to be glancing around uncertainly, appearing to survey the cliffs for possible routes down to the beach. "Look, I wouldn't come down here if I were you..." She warned as soon as she suspected what he was doing, practically yelling over a gust of wind. She swiveled her ears backwards as she heard a wave coming in behind her, rushing to engulf the rocks between her paws. Belle nimbly hopped up onto a higher boulder to avoid getting her toes soaked, unfortunately triggering more blood do trickle out of the jagged gouge-mark on her shoulder by doing so. She paused to agitatedly lick at it once again, trails of blood running down the fur of her right foreleg. Shallow wounds tended to be a hassle as they had the habit of getting infected. "Uhm... I think the tide's coming in." She called out, trying to keep concern from edging her voice as she watched water swirl menacingly around the base of her boulder before filtering back out to sea. An unsettled pinch had begun to form in the she-wolf's stomach, who was becoming increasingly anxious that she wouldn't be able to fulfill her hunting mission. She glanced back up towards the wolf up on the cliffs, large ears pricked up towards him.

Frowning, Sol considered the situation; there was an injured wolf about to be stranded on the beach with no way back up the cliffside. But, he realized with a jolt, he had remembered seeing a well-worn path connecting the two a while back, not too far but just enough to be out of sight. Noticing how the waves lapped insistently at the boulder the other wolf was standing on, Sol knew that she would have to move fast or risk being swept out to sea.[break][break]
"If you're able to move," he called back down, shouting to be heard over the wind as it buffeted his thick pelt, although, for the most part, he was unbothered; he was comfortable with much worse. "There's a path up ahead that you can take back up here. But, you'll need to move fast if you want to beat the tide!"[break][break]
Anxiously, he awaited her answer while racking his brain for any other ways to help. Because the lands of the Black Coast were mostly rocky and barren, there were no vines he could use to help pull her up, and if he just jumped down willy-nilly, chances were that he would only end up aggravating the situation. So, Sol really had no choice but to sit back and see if she would take him up on his offer or send him on his way. And, if it was the latter, he would not leave without a heavy heart and conscience.
