While smaller prey can be hunted in character without any type of moderator intervention, large prey hunts must be moderated. In a moderated hunt, each wolf involved, as well as the prey animal(s), will have a health bar:
Each attack will get a dice roll.
Rolls
1-5: Attack hits, no retaliation
6-8: Attack hits, retaliation
9: Attack misses, no retaliation
10: Attack misses, retaliation
This scale COULD change for particular hunts for especially dangerous game, but this will be the basis. Damage will be decided by the moderator of the hunt based on a number of factors, such as type, gender, age, health, and skill of the prey as well as age, skill, and attack placement of the wolf's attack. The same rules as always apply to this: no god-modding, no powerplaying. You write the wolf's intended attack, and the dice will be rolled. However, the damage caused by the prey animal is unavoidable. The character's actions must reflect their health level. If their health bar runs out, they will lose consciousness and be critically injured. The wolf may leave the hunt at any time.
Many times you will be given a weakened, sick, or young animal. However, if there are harsh conditions or you are seeking a prize specimen (which should be noted when requesting), you may come face-to-face with a stronger animal.
Healing time for injuries will be posted by the moderator either when the wolf, or wolves, leaves the hunt or the prey is dead (which is obviously the most likely scenario).

Most encounters with predators, for any reason, will be exactly as with prey. This includes the health bars, rolls, and healing time at the end of the thread. The biggest difference is that predators will likely cause more damage than a prey animal will. If it is an encounter by Mother Nature that pops into your thread, it's probably the best course of action to run if it is, for example, two wolves against an adult grizzly. The bear may leave, or it may stick around - if that's the case, perhaps you need to go enlist backup to take it down. If it is a fight for a quest, it is advisable to enlist help as well. However, that's completely up to you - it's very heroic for a wolf to take down a jaguar on its own, isn't it?

Hunts will result in 'rewards'. If it is a pack hunt, they will receive an image or pixel to boast on the pack page. If it is an individual or non-pack hunt, there may be a similar reward.
