November Update!

WOW it's been a crazy time since we got started back! I know I've said it a bunch already, but I'm so excited to have you guys back and to see Somerset on the move once more. Now, this month's update has a lot of information in it, so please bear with me!

Firstly, thank you to everyone who was able to participate in the Transform event! I know I got too busy, but I enjoyed reading everyone's entries! I know it's late, but now that I'm back from my work trip, staff will be perusing these and judging them soon!

As a housekeeping note, I'm going to start looking at lands that are claimed and evaluating the effort made to keep alphas active and recruiting if they have no members. If the lands and alphas appear inactive, the lands will likely be opened back up.

Now, we've got a major weather event! A hurricane has set upon Somerset, and it's going to be very destructive. You can read more about it here, and I highly recommend threading in on that action!

We've got an activity check running until 11/21. Nothing stressful, just make sure you get a post in! This is in an effort to get old accounts cleaned out, since they've been building and sitting around for awhile. I'm going to send an email alert out as well to try and make sure anyone who wants to keep their account gets an chance to.

We've got 'of the months' up for this month here, so be sure to go vote! There will be little prizes given out to winners.

You'll notice there is a new board at the end of the forum called 'Realm of the Gods.' This will mostly be used for advanced magic quests (so gogogo, get those intermediates done!). It will be used in a number of ways, all of which require Chaos to send the mortal there at this time. In the future, other gods may summon mortals. For now it will mostly be used as a way to make mortals visit gods, fight dragons, or any number of fun quests to attain that advanced magic!

On the line of gods, there is a new item in the shop called 'Blood of the Gods'. This gives a character the long-descended bloodline of the mating between a mortal and god (not an immediate relation, but from a descendant), which makes the character a 'demi-god'. It does not give them any extra power or any outward signs of being a god relation, but the gods themselves will be able to recognize a demi-god, and also their own descendants. This item will affect all family members and future children of the character. It will be used as a plot tool, as the god in question will visit the character with the item and likely reveal their lineage. After all, since the gods were not known to exist, there was no way for a demi-god to know they are one. The exception would be Iiona and the mortal-gods of Sharktooth. I think it's going to be a very fun adventure into the Somerset mythology that's been developing for a long time, and as gods reveal themselves, they'll be added to a genealogy that will become common knowledge to the wolves of Somerset through word of mouth!
