King of the Coast, Kerberos
Whatever reaction the one eyed male expected, it was not for her to give in. The wariness in his features was evident, she was not about to be given leeway just for a minute attempt. His head cocked to the side with the show of relief that flushed across Namiko's features. At once it both softened him and angered him - how dare she reject Maxim so heartily.
But the plea was answered, and he offered a hint of a sigh. "You're lucky, my dear." The soft edge to his voice was one of brutal reminder, and there was no doubt in his mind. She was going to owe him for this, because it almost made more sense just to be rid of her. To throw her away and accept that the life she deserved was one with a long and brutal death. It would have happened to anyone else, well, no. There had been a handful of females saved from the mercy.
Tail swished and his eye followed his Gatekeeper as movement was made, watching the beast crawl around. It was something that caught his attention well enough, and his mouth turned up at the corners. The jealousy of the attention was not fully missed, but he did offer his male a look of decision. There was a reason for him to hold back and behave for the moment.
"No reason for my Little Wave not to be given the chance she wants." His words repeated this time around, and he winced. "Although there is the nasty problem of you limping back to the den... I'm certainly not staying out here with you." Amusement shined in his eye with the notion, and he shrugged his shoulders carelessly. "Perhaps you can sway Maxim into helping you..."
Laughter entered into the air, and his tail raised. "He's not very happy with you." As he leaned down, he stroked her face with his long tongue, washing gently. Maxim knew the rules, and if she could make him help her back to the den... Well, it would be interesting. Otherwise he wagered she would be laying right there for a fair little while.

She was spent. The past minutes had drained her of thought and feeling. She mind had stopped working altogether - all that was left was the foggy haze of how much her head pounded and her neck hurt. She was frankly quite astonished that just how much damage her body could sustain without her blacking out. It was equally worrisome - it meant the male's would have no qualms about pushing her just to the threshold whenever they seemed to think it necessary. She closed her eyes, Ker's voice merely a rumble that made little sense. If only she could just sleep, now. Maybe then she'd find some reprieve from the woes of her body.
She hadn't realised Maxim had moved from where he had been discarded until her tail was suddenly in her grasp. She yelped sharply at the pressure, the note morphing into a screech as the delicate link between two spines was snapped. If her jaw had been painful, this was pure agony. Blindly she scrambled upright, swaying dangerously on weak limbs as she clamped her maltreated tail firmly between her legs. The sudden movement sent her heart jolting uncomfortably, the sudden increase in blood pressure forcing open the dried up lesion on her neck. She whimpered pitifully, letting her legs collapse beneath her. She hated being so weak and vulnerable!
Ker's words of amusement did little to soothe the querulous beating of her heart. As if she would ask Maxim to do anything except leave her alone! She knew better than to say something, letting herself lie completely still has his tongue ran over her face. It was a small comfort - a petite gesture of normality in the hell she was trapped in. The snow was cool against her cheek and she considered simply staying out here. It was likely to snow again overnight, and being underweight meant lying outside was a bad idea. But she couldn't bring herself to speak to the other male - not after what he had just done to her. Her heart was too bruised for her to forgive him just yet. So she lay still, waiting to see if the males would just leave her. Then she could drag her maltreated body back to her cave in peace and quiet.

MAXIM There was not so much as a flinch at the sounds of pure horror that racked the parted jaws of Namiko. The blank look upon Maxim's face as he observed the face of his alpha showed he was not the slightest bit distracted by the fact he had just brought about an injury that would likely stay with the female for the rest of her life., however long that may turn out to be. Raised ears picked up every spoken word and his head cocked to one side with a show of curiosity. Her ordeal for the time was coming to an end. She was being called back to the den, and Max knew there was a second meaning behind what was being said. Leaving her to return on her own was a risk. She had every chance to run again, or to simply lay down and freeze to death overnight. He had to make sure she got back while she was still breathing.
"Yes." His voice was firm as he came to stand at the side of the broken body on the ground, head nodding to his kind with a show of knowing what was being asked. There was no need for him to be persuaded into assisting her, because the decision had already been made. Flashing his tongue along his muzzle, he could still taste the blood that lingered on his fur. The essence of her life was nothing short of delicious. He could only dream of the day he would get to taste it with a better chance to savour it. He was certain she would someday be disposed of and consumed, and he would be not first, but second to lay his fangs in her cooling flesh.
"She will have my guidance." There was his declaration, spoken in a wat that made sure she knew the level of commitment hiding in the tones. "So that her spinning head does not lead her over a cliff or into a pit." She would not be permitted to play suicide while under his watch. She could try if she pleased, but he would save her for the sake of impressing his king, all the while thinking about the delight of how she would be killed for even attempting. Come to think of it, could he not simply tell Ker that she had tried to leap from a ledge and been stopped? Suddenly he had a lot more to think about.
"She does not even need to ask."
