Mara Aislin The point is that I reached. Not that I fell trying.
For the first time in what seemed quite a while, the sky was crisp and almost too surreal. Small specks danced in place against the dark backdrop of night. Silence was abundant beyond that of the sea in the distance and the occasional squaw of an gull. Though the case was meant to be seldom visited, Mara had always gravitated to this area. You could be left alone and truly think. It was here where her ideals splashed about in vivid pictures. What she wanted to accomplish, rebuild and be a small cause for this land to flourish once more. Like her pack once had before ultimately abandoning this small oddity of paradise. Lowering her front half, her elbows came to gently kiss the cold stone of the slumbering lava and the rest of her released to let herself meld with the ground. This was home. This she adored so greatly, but not many really saw it much more than that of a rocky abandon. It was a shame, really.Resting her chin on her paws she let her eye lids close for a moment. Mulling over everything in detail. Perhaps a few moments passed before something told her to look up once again. To open her eyes before she missed it. So, she did, listening to that still small voice. What she saw had her heart leaping from her chest like that of a fawn who finally found it's legs. Slowly her lips pulled apart in awe and her eyes followed the light that pushed a path through the very sky itself. Finding her paws, she came to stand and take a few steps towards the falling light that eventually squelched and returned the night to its normal darkness. "That was...I've never seen such a thing..." Then suddenly a bright whiteness over took her sight. Her once quiet night was only rattled as a voice waltzed into her mind. A voice that was not her own.
"Hello, you quaint creatures," At first her ears wavered, edging backwards only to jolt forward as the voice continued. "Mortal creatures of flesh and desire, you far more interesting than any of the Gods you worship. I am Chaos, children, and should you need me you need only to wish it, strongly in your hearts. But first, I will give you each a gift. Think of your hearts' desire. Scream it to the heavens. I can grant you power, my children, if you would only speak it. For I will see your dreams come true." So, this...being was speaking to many it seemed. Subconsciously her head swiveled to glance towards Zarek's steps and though she originally felt disbelief, any fool could gather this was no parlor trick. Not one any mortal could ever wish to pull off. For some reason, however, her uneasiness turned to comfort.
"Goddess, I thank you for the visit..I hope your travel was nothing short of safe." Sitting her hind end down, Mara kept her voice gentle as was her usual cadence, but she held it with a higher sense of respect. "This wish isn't exactly for myself, but for those that one day will hopefully find this place as much of an home as I." Glancing down in thought her tail curled over her paws. "To provide a place of safety. A place where they can flourish and know they are safe. To build and learn, this is a wish. Though, we shall put in the work for it, but this is really all I wish for." If she didn't sound like an elderly lady earlier she certainly did now. "We have been gifted so much already. I find it hard wanting much else."
(Notes: She basically is that mix of naïve with that granny complex sorry for her sweetness sugar overload?? Maybe??)
